ViCardia Therapeutics, Inc., a Delaware corporation founded in 2018, is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel therapies for treating heart failure involving mitochondrial dysfunction.

ViCardia is led by a highly experienced management team, board of directors, and scientific advisory board with extensive experience treating chronic and acute heart failure and conducting cardiovascular research.

A proven track record of building, scaling, and exiting innovative healthcare companies, backed by a board and scientific advisory board with deep expertise in cardiology and clinical development. A complementary team with deep expertise in medicine, clinical development, operations, finance, and strategy to execute ViCardia’s mission and build long-term value.

Co-founder of ViCardia Therapeutics and its CEO. A four-time successful VC-financed med-tech and healthcare company founder, twice serving as CEO, with prior experience as CEO of the Ischemia Research and Education Foundation, a cardiovascular institute at UCSF. A Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and member of the California Bar Association.

Associate Professor of Medicine, Immunology & Molecular Microbiology at Johns Hopkins. Co-founded The Institute for OneWorld Health and served as its Chief Medical Officer. Extensive experience leading multinational Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials, and author of more than 40 papers in JAMA, NEJM, and JACC.

Background in clinical development, strategy consulting, and financial advisory, with global leadership roles in life-science companies across Europe, the U.S., India, and Latin America. Has successfully advanced innovative technologies from concept to product launch. Began his career at The Boston Consulting Group.

More than 30 years in financial and executive positions in biotechnology companies. Special advisor to the Board of Directors at PeriCor Therapeutics, ViCardia's predecessor. Expertise in manufacturing, strategic development, and commercialization, and co-founder of multiple companies.
